Finish in Hyde Park
On the tour, we will run down the River Thames, see all of London’s main sights and finish in Hyde Park. You will be led by me, a friendly London-born history nerd who likes running! I have carefully designed this route to be as free-flowing as possible, and to provide the best visual angles as we approach London’s landmarks. There will be a few very short pitstops at some key sights where I will provide historical explanations of what we are looking at.
The route
Gavin
Born and raised in London, I have a passion for British history, and spend a large amount of my free time reading books and watching documentaries about it. For a number of years I have been working as a London tour guide, and I have never enjoyed a job so much in my life as it allows me to both feed my passion for British history and share it with other people.
A couple of years ago while on a summer holiday in Madrid, I learned that running around aimlessly by yourself in the morning can actually be an excellent way of conquering the main sights of a city. Thus, I was struck by the idea of combining this type of running with the historical insight provided on a regular walking tour.
Immediately after this trip, I began to design a running route through all of London’s main sights. I endeavoured to make the route as free-flowing as possible, minimising obstacles, maximising natural beauty and making sure that we approach monuments from aesthetically pleasing angles.
I’m so excited to share this experience with you, providing my historical knowledge, carefully crafted route and friendly guidance.
